Jacqueline: “Having worked as a holistic therapist and dance teacher for 20 years, I have seen the effects of stress, illness and pain, both physical and emotional. I often thought how much I would like to offer people a therapeutic break from their everyday lives.
While supporting people in bereavement with CRUSE in England, I realised what many grieving people craved, as well as someone understanding to listen to them, was peace and quiet to try to come to terms with their loss and soothe their sadness.”
Martin: “Having spent 27 years working in London the pressure and stress was beginning to take its toll. After Jacqueline and I were married, we decided to re-evaluate our lives. I left my job and became a Personal Trainer with the aim of understanding how to introduce sustainable and enjoyable exercise programmes to people with busy working lives. I also joined a volunteering program aimed at introducing young disadvantaged people to Nature and whilst noticing the positive impact of the program it made me realise just how disconnected I myself had become from Nature.”
